Dr. Carter was one of those influential teachers in my life. I took Calculus from him at APU in 2002-2003 and kept in contact with him for a few years after graduating. He was always genuinely concerned what was happening in my life and had a deep respect and admiration for my service in the military. He understood what that meant well before I did. I didn't realize how important that time was in my life or for others until a few years ago after returning from my deployment to Iraq. Unfortunately, by that time Dr. Carter was battling his illness and I wasn't able to share that with him. I will miss having him in my life and appreciate everything I have learned from him.
