Pam Retzloff (Jackson) 30th April 2011

Jack has had a huge and special place in my life, especially during my teens and 20's. He did a lot to bring fun, joy, and God centeredness to those usually crazy years. I'm very blessed and thankful that Jack was involved in that part of my life. One of the coolest parts of Jack's character to me was that he generously shared whatever resources he had. During my teen years I spent hours and hours at Jack's home doing good, healthy, fun things, or having wonderful conversations about living for God no matter what. I also spent hours and hours at Jack's business -- The Court Club. I didn't think about it much as a teen, but today I understand what a sacrifice it was that I was never asked to pay a dime to be there. I went to the Court Club on my own, sometimes 3 days a week, to work out on the exercise equipment, and many many times with church groups for Bible studies and parties. Even though the Court Club was Jack's business from which he needed to make a living, he generously welcomed me and others many many times, seemingly without a second thought. Jack was a man of integrity and a truly cheerful giver. Jack showed great loving-kindness to several people who needed a man of strength to be like a father to them. Jack freely gave his strength, love, and resources to help. I know many times He let God have his strong arms to wrap around someone to bring His Kingdom, Hope, and Love to them. Looking back, I think probably Jack's kids sometimes wanted to jump into those arms themselves and say, "Dad please stop loving on everyone else so we can have some for awhile." It was Jack's way, to give sacrificially, so his family gave sacrificially too. Jack did much in his life from a giving heart to please the Lord, and was a good and faithful servant. I'm so thankful for my almost life-long friendship with the Carters, and that we're all in God's family and will share eternity together. My prayers are with all of you. Love, Pam
