Jack had a huge impact in my life. He and Judy took me into their home to live for a few years. Much sacrifice was made in their family to accomodate me. (Thank you from a Grateful Heart!) They made sure I went to church with them every week...several times a week! And got me involved with people and things I never would have chosen, but am so glad they did. They would take me on camping trips and I found out how much Jack liked to fish...even when it was cold and almost dark. I learned about out-houses and came to appreciate them as a luxury at times. He loved to hunt and fish and would bring home all kinds of "meat". Judy would faithfully cook it for our meals. And I would come to the table with great apprehension about what we were eating. After noticing that I wasn't eating very well one time, Jack realized he needed to show me how to take the bones out of the fresh fish on my plate! Never had to do that before. He thought nothing of driving a Jeep straight up the side of a mountain "driveway" to get somewhere. Snow and ice on a winding mountain road....at night...wouldn't stop him either! As I went through some difficult things in my life, his "go get'um" attitude guided me (sometimes "pushed" me) to take first steps/big steps and taught me courage, faith, hope & love along the way. He & Judy are the ones who led me to the Lord in their livingroom. And eventually introduced me to my husband (of 31 yrs.now). He always found ways to get involved with whatever was going on...whether it be sports, games, putting together a dollhouse (for my daughter), or just talking/visiting/laughing with people. He counted everyone in his family as valuable and gave his undivided attention to all who needed it. I will be eternally grateful for the time I had to get to know Jack...and miss him lots already!!
